Monticello’s Board of Directors consists of Firefighters as well as citizens from our community. Board members are nominated by a committee and also by those in attendance at the Annual meeting. Attendees within our district vote on the nominees, and those receiving the highest number of votes fill the vacant positions. Officers are nominated and voted on by the Board members. Those receiving the highest number of votes are elected as officers.
The Board meets on the first Monday of each month, at 7:30 pm, in the department’s meeting room. The Board also has an Annual meeting, held on the first Monday in May, usually at 7:00 pm. The public is invited to attend.
The Board of Directors face many challenging decisions, especially financially, and their input is crucial to the continued development of Monticello Fire Department.
